[VIDEO] Gillibrand comments on disaster relief at fair
Majority Leader Eric Cantor said dollars spent for disaster relief should be balanced by new cuts elsewhere in the federal budget. Those comments do not sit well with the senator.
Senator Gillibrand said, "I think it's irresponsible, and I think he lacked judgement, and I think he should come and begin to meet with the homes, the families, and the businesses that have been so affected by this storm. You know, the number one job of our federal government is to protect people, to keep people safe, and one of our fundamental responsibilities is to be there when there are disasters of this great magnitude."
