EITC Awareness Day
Did you know that hard-working New Yorkers and individuals across our country are eligible for refundable tax credits? The Earned Income Tax Credit, more commonly known as the EITC, is one of those programs.
The EITC is a federal, state and New York City tax credit for qualifying families, non-custodial parents or singles who work full-time or part-time or are self-employed. For working families, the credit could be worth up to $8,293. That's money that goes directly into their pockets and can be reinvested in the communities where they live and work. This program was started in 1975 and continues to have broad bipartisan support today. You can find out if you qualify for the EITC at IRS.gov.To continue reading: http://www.foodbanknyc.org/news/eitc-awareness-day
