Senator Gillibrand unveils manufacturing agenda
New York has long been a leader in manufacturing and now the push is towards high tech manufacturing.
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand said," We were at the forefront this century and the last and I think we need to continue to be at that forefront."
At that forefront are companies like Sanmina-SCI.
"This company for example is an outstanding high tech company," said Gillibrand.
A company that has had to evolve to stay afloat in an increasing global market.
Mrk Gable, the Vice President of Sanmina-SCI, said, "Products that used to be produced in North America are now able to be produced in their region."
Senator Gillibrand is hoping her new proposal, which includes the Made In America grant program, will help such companies to evolve and expand.
